GX Works3 is the latest generation of programming and maintenance software offered by Mitsubishi Electric, specifically designed for the MELSEC iQ-R and MELSEC iQ-F Series control systems (including Software PLC for the Q Series and FX Series).

GX Works3 introduces many new features and technologies to ensure a seamless engineering environment. In modern automation, software engineering is considered just as fundamental as hardware components. As the heart of the system, the software supports the entire product lifecycle — from the design stage to system monitoring and maintenance.

Accelerated Cause Analysis through Synchronized Video, Program, and Waveform Monitoring
Captured video feeds can be synchronized with program execution and waveform monitoring, providing visual confirmation of error areas. Playback speed can be adjusted for a more detailed analysis.

Registering Milestone Points on the Timeline
Milestone points (log markers) can be added to the video timeline to highlight critical events or areas of concern. These markers can be saved and shared with other support teams for collaborative analysis.

Categorizing Milestone Points
Log markers can be color-coded based on event type or importance, and comments can be added to facilitate more efficient troubleshooting and review.

Data Flow Analysis:

Device and label data relationships are visualized as a flowchart in GX Works3. Engineers can easily trace data flow from the point of concern back to the related devices and pinpoint the actual code affecting the data. Ladder, FBD, SFC (within ZOOM view), and ST programming languages are all supported in this analysis feature.

GX Works3 includes a variety of maintenance and monitoring features designed to minimize system downtime and maximize productivity:

  • System-wide error and module status monitoring
  • Network-level monitoring, including detection of program and parameter changes in the CPU

Multilingual Menu System for Global Support:

The user interface can be switched between multiple languages, enabling different global locations to collaborate on the same project using a consistent version of the software. Additionally, device comments within the project can be translated and switched between languages without the need for duplicating project files.
